Omega 3s and Histamine Intolerance
You want to take Omega 3s to boost your DHA and EPA levels, help inflammation and get your brain to work better? But you can’t find any that don’t make you react?
Coming up in this post, we speak to one of the world’s most respected health authors on this issue, plus we roadtest:
Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil
Algae capsules
Rosita Real Foods Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil
Alternative solutions. World-renowned expert Dr. Dale Bredesen with other solutions for histamine intolerance and Omega 3s
I bought Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil (supposedly very high in purity and seemingly tolerated by some people with HIT). Big mistake. I took it for a few days last week and then had quite the reaction. It wasn’t pretty.
I’ve also been gently experimenting with Algae capsules (on the right) which some people say work better with histamine intolerance. Again - I had the telltale stuffy nose and lethargy afterwards, though less intense. As with everything histamine related you’re often not quite sure so I might give algae another go. But both fish and algae rank high histamine on our food lists so this is not entirely surprising.
My friends at the fantastic @functionalself sell @rositarealfoods extra virgin cod liver oil and I might try that again - the company has great values. But I tried it in the past and I think I had a reaction.
For any of you who follow the incredible @drdalebredesen, he emphasises the importance of these oils for anyone who has the genes APOE3/4 or APOE4/4. So I talked to him about this problem, and he came up with some great alternative solutions. You can click on the video to find out more.
