Ever wondered about questions like these? Now you can get them answered.
You have mentioned links between histamine intolerance and omega 3 supplements which I wasn’t aware of. Could you expand on that please?
You also mentioned a link with collagen and histamine - I often add a scoop of collagen powder to smoothies - hadn’t realised there was a link. I use the Great Lakes grass-fed bovine hydrolysed collagen peptides protein powder - do you know if that is ok to use?
Could you expand on the link you mentioned between histamine intolerance and Candida too please?
You have mentioned that you have used a wearable blood sugar monitor before. Is there any correlation between blood sugar spikes and your own personal histamine triggers?
Coffee is out. Green & Black Tea are definitely out. Where the hell can one get caffeine?
I've heard pork causes histamine issues from various sources but am not sure personally. What do you think?
I'm an athlete and trying to get my 1g of protein/1lb of bodyweight a day and it seems very difficult. Any recommendations?
My main symptoms from histamine flares are rashes. Some rashes only occur in a certain area paired with a certain food. It's taken years of experimentation but there does seem to be a pattern. Have you noticed this?
Recently I noticed red wine destroys me. White wine and spirits are less impactful but I've decided to give all alcohol a rest for 2+ months. How long does the body typically need to recharge?
How do you approach gut health? I take psyllium husk, xyloologosacharides, partially hydrolyzed guar gum, and other fiber supplements to nourish gut bacteria
Do you have experience with creatine being helpful for histamine?
The good news is that it’s never too late to begin your low-histamine journey, or reconnect with it.
That’s why, for 14 days at the start of 2022, we’re going to take the low histamine challenge, and refocus on our diet, stress and sleep.
‘It all begins with self-awareness and taking action.’
Without accountability, bouncing back in the new year full of vitality isn’t always easy.
This world of histamine is extremely difficult to navigate. So we’ll do this whole thing together.
I’m going to show you the exact process that I’ve been following for years to lower my histamine levels.
What a way to start the New Year. We start on January 1st. This is going to be fun!
It focuses on three areas.
Diet (my number one way to recalibrate my histamine levels. This challenge will feel SO good after the excesses of the party season.)
Stress (the links between stress, histamine and MCAS are explored in multiple studies and papers). By the end of the challenge you’ll be so chill you’ll be horizontal (hopefully!), and your histamine intolerance will thank you.)
Sleep is absolutely crucial to managing histamine intolerance (and vice versa). We’ll use powerful meditation and NLP techniques to improve your sleep, and support each other along the way.)
This isn’t a cure to your histamine issues.
In fact, I’m not sure a cure exists. For instance, I still avoid smoked salmon and I’m pretty sure I always will!
This challenge is all about us working together. It’s all about you having the focus and support to do everything you can to lower your histamine levels and kickstart your low-histamine journey.
By the end of the challenge, you’ll have the confidence and tools required to continue your low-histamine journey for ultimate health.
But first let me introduce myself (for those that don’t know me).
I'm Tony Wrighton, a journalist, TV presenter, podcaster and author and a long term histamine intolerance sufferer.
For 25 years, I suffered from a dodgy belly and other debilitating symptoms.
Then I found out about histamine intolerance.
Over the years my gut and skin have got about 95% better. I've brought my histamine levels under control and my company has written several books about it.
What I lost in giving up avocados, I gained in waaay better health and feeling so much better. I still have to watch it and I still occasionally get flare-ups. I’m working on that final 5%, but life is so much easier than it was. It’s so great!
I dedicated myself to digging into the research around histamine intolerance.
I'm not a nutritionist or doctor (and don't want to be). I’m a journalist and I simply know that the information we are given about histamine is extremely difficult to navigate, because I have been through it myself.
After working with a number of practitioners who have helped me through my journey, I’ve combined my journalistic skills and NLP techniques specifically tailored to histamine intolerance to develop the 14 day low-histamine challenge.
I learnt that making specific, targeted changes to my diet, stress and sleep levels works well.
That’s what we’ll be doing together. We start on January 1st 2022 for 14 days.
I want us all to go through it and support each other together. It’ll be rewarding and we’ll have some fun along the way.
“Let’s kickstart your low-histamine lifestyle in 2022, and have some fun along the way. ”
We’ll focus on diet, stress and sleep, the three pillars of a healthy low-histamine lifestyle to help you kick start a low-histamine lifestyle.

You’ll get access to two of my personal special NLP mp3 downloads (available nowhere else) on sleep.
I’ll be specifically tackling sleep throughout the 14-days with a whole range of tools. Sleep support is crucial if you are going to nail your Low Histamine 2022.
Remember, we are all in this together. I’ll be taking the program too, and posting on my progress, and I’d love to hear from you as we go. You’ll be able to share your progress with other participants in our private group and get accountability and inspiration in the area of histamine intolerance and diet, stress and sleep.
““Thanks so much for covering this topic since most people not familiar with importance of sleep, particularly with histamine.””
““Tony is someone who understands, in a professional manner, in language mere humans can understand, taking the complex area of HI and making is simple so one can begin to help oneself. Thank you!”
”
““Tony gives you the understanding so that you can make changes in your lifestyle.””
““Now I’ve been guided in this direction I do find I am feeling so much better.””
I’m not sure if I’m histamine intolerant, should I take part in the challenge?
Yes!
Whilst the challenge is to go low-histamine, a low-histamine lifestyle is a healthy lifestyle. If you are not sure if you are low-histamine, this is a great way to kick off 2022 as you’ll start to discover what foods affect you and whether histamine is one of your areas to work on.
Will the meal plan be tailored specifically for me?
I’m an enthusiastic low-histamine chef and I love cooking good low-histamine food. All the meals are gluten free. The meal plan included is an example only, and if you want to tailor to a particular preference (ie/ vegan or vegetarian), then your free cookbook contains options. This isn’t a weight loss plan so feel free to adjust the portion sizes to your needs. If you need individual support of any kind please consult your practitioner.
What if I have a pre-existing health condition, can I still take part in the challenge?
If you have an existing health condition, consult with your doctor before taking part. This challenge is non-medical and is based on my experiences of dealing with histamine intolerance. Do not expect any medical advice. Always consult with your doctor before starting any new diet. If you need medical support of whatever kind, this is not the right place to come and you must consult with your practitioner.
What does the extra 1-1 support look like?
It’ll be a 1 hour virtual session with me, Tony, addressing whatever you need help with. We can dive into the quality of your sleep and what stressors elevate your histamine levels. We can do some advanced tracking which helps massively when working with your practitioner.
I’m trained to the highest level in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and have wide experience of working with clients, as well as having written four books published in 12 languages.
Due to time constraints, unfortunately there are only three 1-1 places available for this challenge.
Please note: This challenge and support is non-medical. If you need medical assistance you must talk to your practitioner. I’m not a doctor and I don’t want to be, but a (very!) inquisitive journalist and NLP Practitioner determined to help people understand this condition.
““Information that is easy to understand for a lay person like myself. It helped me to understand what I am facing with histamine intolerance.””
