Coffee and Histamine Intolerance
I take my coffee black and very strong, two or three times a day.
I never quite know how to ask for it in coffee shops, but someone Italian told me to ask for a ‘Double Espresso Long’ which sounds good, anyway.
Similar I’m told a Long Black, or is it a Short Black?
I forget.
I asked my Instagram followers how they take their coffee and what suits their histamine intolerance best. Here is what they say:
“Just the smell of it triggers a mast cell release for one of us”
“I’ve given up coffee. I miss it BUT histamine levels are getting better by the day!”
“Coffee is prone to mould. So: keep the beans frozen and grind them on the spot. Only have organic and mild roasted (roasting increases histamines I think??). Single shot, long black in a glass with generous spoon of raw honey. Life saved!”
Remember to test coffee carefully as we all react differently.
Got mystery symptoms no one can quite explain?
Histamine intolerance could be the missing piece.
