Important note for all chewing gum fans
If you are a chewing gum fan, avoid using gum with artificial sweeteners. This is a small but important point. 👌
You could use gum flavoured with xylitol (but see comments below). However always avoid aspartame in chewing gum and everywhere else.
You’d be amazed at how many chewing gums have aspartame in them. 😮
Avoid, firstly because artificial sweeteners can cause a histamine flare. And also they are not natural and not optimum for the body.
Diet drinks flavoured with artificial sweeteners were linked in a study to an increased prevalence of heart disease by as much as 50% and were also linked to higher average BMIs, a higher rate of diabetes and and higher average blood pressure.
Ugh. I’d like to give the final word on aspartame to Dave Asprey who sums it up better than me.
“At this point, there is no biological or ethical argument for allowing unsafe artificial sweeteners like aspartame. Let's ban this stuff! It's not safe for human consumption and there is no benefit to putting it in your body”
