Histamine Foods to Watch out For

My ‘watch out for’ list. I don’t always completely avoid these foods, but I watch out for them.

It may seem long, but these are just foods I'm more cautious around. Everything else I tend to eat just fine (with helpful emojis for your reference lol)

  • Foods that have vinegar. (Apple Cider Vinegar might be okay) 🔴

  • Fermented foods (oh hi Kombucha) 🔴

  • Cured meats. 🔴

  • Soured foods. 🔴

  • Dried fruits. 🔴

  • Smoked fish. Should only be fresh from the water or freezer. 🔴

  • Most of the citrus fruits. 🔴

  • Nuts. Especially peanuts and walnuts. 🔴

  • Aged cheese. In fact all cheese.🔴

  • Leftovers. (Unless frozen straightaway.)🔴

  • Eggs (for some people – particularly egg whites) 🤔

  • Avocado🔴

  • Chocolate 🔴

  • Bananas🔴

  • Nuts 🤔 (some lists say some nuts okay)

  • Pineapple 🔴

  • Papaya 🔴

  • Strawberries 🔴

  • Shellfish 🔴

  • Tomatoes 🔴

  • And most artificial preservatives 🔴

  • Energy drinks, 🔴

  • Tea 🔴

  • Alcohol 🔴 (especially red wine pffff)

  • And finally, weird orange donuts like the ones in the pic 🟠 🍩 😂

These foods may differ for everyone, but being mindful of our body's reactions is essential for histamine intolerance.
