Histamine Intolerance and Carob
Have you ever tried carob?
A good substitute to high-histamine chocolate is carob and you can buy some delicious carob bars from your local health food store.
However, wait for it, many sites including SIGHI say that carob is also high in histamine. Whilst carob is delicious, I also find carob can be inflammatory and so I mostly steer clear. It makes my bones ache. That's possibly not a technical description but that's how it feels - I feel achy the day after eating carob.
As always, do your own testing, you might be fine with carob or chocolate - I hope so for your sake. But the SIGHI scale lists it as a 2 - and that's my experience too.
