Histamine Intolerance and Carob

Histamine Intolerance and Carob

Histamine intolerance and Carob

Have you ever tried carob? ⁣

A good substitute to high-histamine chocolate is carob and you can buy some delicious carob bars from your local health food store. ⁣

However, wait for it, many sites including SIGHI say that carob is also high in histamine. Whilst carob is delicious, I also find carob can be inflammatory and so I mostly steer clear. It makes my bones ache. That's possibly not a technical description but that's how it feels - I feel achy the day after eating carob. ⁣

As always, do your own testing, you might be fine with carob or chocolate - I hope so for your sake. But the SIGHI scale lists it as a 2 - and that's my experience too.
