Tea and Histamine Intolerance

Tea and Histamine Intolerance

Have you found any teas that help with histamine intolerance? I love a cup of tea but we are not sure which teas help my histamine levels and which don’t. ⁣

This post is a good excuse to dig out an old, very clean shaven throwback pic from 2015 of me with a cup of tea…

So let’s have a look at a couple of histamine-fighting teas.

First up, a histamine-fighting hibiscus tea. ⁣

Don’t take my word for it. Beth O’Hara says…⁣

“Hibiscus is high in quercetin and kaempferol that can support mast cells. Be sure to use organic hibiscus flowers.”⁣

And the Healing Histamine website calls hibiscus…⁣

“Mast cell stabilising/antihistamine, quercetin rich and anti-inflammatory”⁣

Secondly, the magnficent Tulsi tea.

Tulsi is said to have antihistamine effects that are comparable to the antihistamine drug, Ranitidine (trade name Zantac).
