The Instant Pot - the best bit of kitchen tech I’ve ever owned

This is hands down the best bit of kitchen tech I’ve ever owned, and it’s fantastic for histamine intolerance.⁣

The Instant Pot is a healthy, quick pressure cooker. It cooks, steams, sautés, makes (histamine intolerance friendly) yoghurts and so much more. I use it pretty much every day, and it’s so good I’m in danger of becoming an Instant Pot bore! ⁣

It’s particularly good for histamine intolerance because I can cook frozen food quickly and safely in it, and get that ‘slow-cooked’ vibe from food without having to leave it in a slow cooker for 10 hours where it would accumulate too much histamine.⁣

My favourite dishes: ⁣

🍲 Bulletproof Beef Shin (inspired by the Bulletproof Cookbook) with olive oil, turmeric, and other spices. I cook from frozen for even more freshness. In the pot for 1 hour 15. Then shred with a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar which is the secret ingredient. Any left over liquid goes in the freezer for a stock for the dish below.⁣

🍲 “Beau Rice”, saute mode for bacon, onions, garlic, then rice goes in with chopped veggies and spices for 8 minutes. A perfect easy dinner. Can be done lower carb without rice and with more chopped cauliflower and sweet potato. Then it’s just 5 minutes to cook.⁣

🍲Low Histamine Yoghurt. This is a work in progress but a lot of fun to try on yoghurt mode- see separate post.⁣
